Federated Search
Search across your connected services and Wyatt content in a single query.
One Search, All Your Tools
Federated search lets you search across Wyatt and your connected external services at the same time. Instead of opening Google Drive, then Slack, then Notion to track down a piece of information, you run one search and get unified results from everywhere.
How It Works
When you run a search, Wyatt executes two phases in parallel:
- Workspace search -- Your local Wyatt content (documents, databases, conversations) is searched using semantic indexing.
- Connector search -- Each connected service is queried simultaneously, and results are pulled back and normalized.
Results from all sources are merged, ranked by relevance, and presented in a single, unified list. Each result shows a source badge so you always know where it came from.
Supported Services
| Service | What's Searched |
|---|---|
| Google Drive | Documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and other files |
| Slack | Messages and threads from your connected channels |
| Notion | Pages and databases from your Notion workspace |
| Jira | Issues, epics, and project items |
| Confluence | Pages and spaces from your Confluence wiki |
| Fathom | Meeting recordings and notes |
You need to connect a service before it appears in federated search results. Head to Connections to set up your integrations.
Relevance Ranking
Federated search results are scored and sorted so the most relevant items appear first, regardless of source. Wyatt normalizes scores across different services so that a highly relevant Slack message ranks above a loosely related Google Drive file.
Results are also grouped by source in the search interface, so you can quickly scan a particular service if you prefer.
Using Federated Search
Federated search is available everywhere you can search in Wyatt:
- Command Palette (
Cmd+K) -- type your query and see results from all sources - AI Conversations -- ask the AI to find something and it will search connected services automatically
- Search page -- use the dedicated search view for more detailed exploration
Privacy and Permissions
Federated search respects the permissions of each connected service. Wyatt can only return results that your authenticated account has access to. No data from external services is stored permanently -- results are fetched in real time.
If you're not seeing results from a particular service, check that your connection is still active in Settings > Connections. Tokens can expire and may need to be refreshed.
