Skills

Reusable AI prompts that save time and bring consistency to your workflow.

What Are Skills?

Skills are reusable AI prompts that you can invoke from any conversation. Think of them as shortcuts — instead of typing out the same detailed instruction every time, you save it as a skill and run it with a single click or command.

For example, you might create a skill that summarizes meeting notes in a specific format your team prefers, or one that translates content into multiple languages at once.

Why Use Skills?

  • Save time — Skip rewriting the same prompts over and over.
  • Stay consistent — Everyone on your team gets the same results from the same skill.
  • Share knowledge — Capture your best prompts and share them with teammates.
  • Reduce errors — Well-crafted skills produce reliable, predictable output.

Built-in vs. Custom Skills

Wyatt comes with a set of built-in skills for common tasks like summarizing, translating, and analyzing data. These are ready to use out of the box.

You can also create custom skills tailored to your specific needs — your own prompt templates with variables that adapt to different inputs.

CustomSkills you create with your own prompts and variables. Shareable with your team.

Invoking Skills from Conversations

There are several ways to run a skill:

  1. Command palette — Press Cmd+K and search for the skill by name.
  2. Slash command — Type / in a conversation to see available skills.
  3. Mention in chat — Ask the AI to run a skill: "Run the Summarize skill on this document."

When you invoke a skill, the AI follows the prompt template you've defined and returns the result directly in your conversation.
