Built-in Skills

Ready-to-use AI skills for summarizing, translating, explaining, generating content, and analyzing data.

Overview

Wyatt ships with a set of built-in skills that cover the most common AI tasks. These skills are available to every workspace out of the box — no setup required.

Summarize

Condenses long documents, conversations, or data into a concise summary. You can control the length and format.

Example prompts:

  • "Summarize this document in three bullet points."
  • "Give me a one-paragraph summary of today's meeting notes."
Tip

The Summarize skill works on documents, conversations, and even database records. Just tell it what to summarize.

Translate

Translates text into one or more languages. The skill preserves formatting and tone as closely as possible.

Example prompts:

  • "Translate this document to Spanish."
  • "Translate the following paragraph into French and German."

You can translate entire documents or selected sections. The AI will maintain headings, lists, and other formatting.

Explain

Breaks down complex topics into simple, easy-to-understand language. Great for making technical content accessible to a wider audience.

Example prompts:

  • "Explain this report like I'm new to the team."
  • "Simplify the technical sections of this document."

You can also ask for explanations targeted at a specific audience — "Explain this for a non-technical stakeholder" versus "Explain this for an engineer."

Generate Content

Creates new content based on your instructions. This skill is flexible and can produce a wide range of outputs.

Example prompts:

  • "Write a product announcement for our new feature."
  • "Draft an email to the team about the upcoming offsite."
  • "Generate five tagline options for our landing page."
Note

Generated content is placed directly into your conversation. From there, you can copy it, save it to a document, or ask the AI to refine it further.

Analyze Data

Reviews data from your databases or documents and provides insights, patterns, and recommendations.

Example prompts:

  • "Analyze the Tasks database and tell me which projects are behind schedule."
  • "What trends do you see in our sales data from last quarter?"
  • "Compare the completion rates across all teams."

The Analyze Data skill can read your databases, perform calculations, and present findings in tables, charts, or plain language — whatever is most helpful.

Using Built-in Skills

You can invoke any built-in skill the same way you'd invoke a custom skill:

  1. Command palette — Press Cmd+K, search for the skill name.
  2. Slash command — Type /summarize, /translate, etc. in a conversation.
  3. Natural language — Just ask: "Translate this to Japanese" or "Summarize the last five messages."

The AI recognizes when you're asking for something a built-in skill handles and applies it automatically.

Tip

If a built-in skill doesn't quite fit your needs, you can create a custom skill based on it with your own adjustments.
