Tip

Not sure which chart type to use? Ask the AI — describe what you're trying to show and it will recommend the right visualization.

Configuring a Chart

Once you pick a chart type and data source, the Chart Config Panel lets you fine-tune how your data is displayed.

Axes and Data Mapping

  • X-axis — choose the column that represents your categories or time values (e.g., month, product name)
  • Y-axis — choose the column with the numeric values you want to plot (e.g., revenue, count)
  • Group by — optionally split your data into multiple series by a column (e.g., region, status)

Labels

  • Chart title — give your chart a clear, descriptive name that appears at the top
  • Axis labels — are automatically derived from your column names, but you can customize them

Colors

Each chart is assigned a complementary color from Wyatt's built-in theme based on its position on the dashboard. This keeps dashboards visually cohesive without any manual color picking.

Note

For pie and donut charts, each slice automatically gets a distinct color so categories are easy to tell apart.

Real-Time Data

Charts pull data directly from your database tables. When the underlying data changes — whether someone adds a row, updates a value, or the AI modifies records — your charts reflect those changes the next time you view the dashboard.

This means your dashboards are always showing the latest picture of your data without any manual refresh.

Editing and Deleting Charts

  • To edit a chart, click the edit button on the chart card. This reopens the chart builder with your current settings.
  • To delete a chart, click the delete button. You'll be asked to confirm before the chart is removed.
