ChatGPT Team Pricing in 2026: $20–$25, Now Called Business
ChatGPT Team is now ChatGPT Business. Standard seats are $20–$25 per user, Premium is waitlisted, and Plus is still the individual plan.

People still search “ChatGPT Team pricing.” OpenAI renamed the plan. ChatGPT Team became ChatGPT Business on 29 August 2025. The help center is blunt: it is the same product with a clearer name. The price has moved since the rename.
This is a current look at OpenAI’s business pricing and What is ChatGPT Business? as of 14 August 2026. Consumer prices sit on a different page. Check both before you buy.
The short answer
For most countries, a standard ChatGPT Business seat is:
- $20 per user per month billed annually
- $25 per user per month billed monthly
- minimum two users
That is the plan the old “Team” query is pointing at.
OpenAI’s billing article notes that on 2 April 2026 they cut the standard seat by $5 / month. If you still have a spreadsheet from the original Team launch ($25 annual / $30 monthly), it is stale.
Business vs Plus vs Go vs Enterprise
Do not mix the consumer ladder with the workspace plan.
| Plan | Price (USD, typical) | Who it is for |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | Personal ChatGPT |
| Go | $8 / month in the US (launch post) | Cheaper individual upgrade |
| Plus | $20 / month | Individual, including personal Projects |
| Business, standard | $20 / user / month annual, $25 monthly, 2+ users | Shared workspace, admin, Company Knowledge, shared Projects |
| Business, Premium | $100 / user / month annual, $125 monthly (waitlist ahead of launch) | 5× usage, no 5-hour cap, mix seats in one workspace |
| Enterprise | Custom | Security, compliance, large orgs |
Premium seats are listed on the Business help article as coming to ChatGPT Business: $100 annual / $125 monthly, waitlist before 20 August. Treat Premium as announced pricing, not something every workspace can toggle today.
Codex on Business is no longer a simple extra seat for new workspaces. OpenAI stopped offering Codex seats to new Business plans after 24 June 2026; usage runs on credits. Existing workspaces that already had Codex seats keep a different path. Read the billing article if Codex is the reason you are buying Business.
What the Business seat includes
From OpenAI’s Business help page, a standard seat includes ChatGPT plus GPTs, Projects, Apps, Company Knowledge, ChatGPT Agent, Deep Research, and Codex access inside the workspace — subject to rate limits, with workspace credits if you go over.
You also get a shared workspace: admin, billing, and (on this plan) the ability to share Projects with groups rather than only with people you email from a Plus account.
You do not get a documents-and-tasks workspace. Business is still ChatGPT with company controls.
A 10-person team
| Setup | Monthly (annual billing) | Year |
|---|---|---|
| Ten people on Plus, no shared workspace | $200 | $2,400 |
| ChatGPT Business, 10 standard seats | $200 | $2,400 |
| Same, billed monthly | $250 | $3,000 |
| 8 standard + 2 Premium (if Premium is live) | $360 annual / $450 monthly | $4,320 / $5,400 |
Plus and Business can land on the same dollar amount for ten people. You are not paying more for Business because the model is smarter. You are paying for the workspace: admin, Company Knowledge, shared Projects, and a bill you can put on a card the company owns.
If two of the ten are power users who keep hitting the five-hour cap, Premium is the line item that breaks the “it’s $20” story — $100 extra per those seats on annual billing, on top of the eight standard seats.
Claude Team, for comparison, uses the same headline: $20 / member / month annual, $25 monthly, Premium $100 / $125. See Anthropic’s Team plan article. The market for “chat with admin” has converged on that shape.
Limits people miss
- Two-seat minimum. One person cannot buy Business. Plus is the individual plan.
- Credits above included usage. The $20 is not unlimited. OpenAI sells workspace credits when you exceed the included rate.
- Codex. New Business workspaces should read the Codex rate card, not assume a seat includes unbounded coding usage.
- Projects file caps. Shared Business projects allow 40 files. That is a pack, not the company wiki. Details in ChatGPT Projects vs Claude Projects.
- Rename lag. Invoices, blogs, and Google results still say Team. The checkout you want is Business.
Frequently asked questions
How much is ChatGPT Team per month?
There is no Team SKU. ChatGPT Business is $25 per user per month, or $20 if you pay annually, with a two-user minimum.
Is ChatGPT Business the same as Team?
Yes. OpenAI renamed it on 29 August 2025. Features at rename were unchanged; pricing and seats have changed since.
Is Plus enough for a small team?
For ten people who only need a better model, Plus is the same $20 headcount math without admin or Company Knowledge. The moment you want a shared project, SSO-adjacent controls, or a company-owned workspace, you are on Business.
Is ChatGPT cheaper than Wyatt?
ChatGPT is a chat product. Wyatt is a workspace. Wyatt is free during beta with no card. There is no Wyatt paid tier to line up against $20 / $25.
If the bill is for answers from your work
Business is the right ChatGPT purchase when the problem is admin, sharing, and company context inside ChatGPT. It is the wrong purchase if what you actually wanted is cited answers from the docs and tasks the team already keeps.
Wyatt is that workspace. During beta it is free. A useful first hour:
- Create a workspace and invite the people who would have been Business seats.
- Put a brief in a document and the follow-ups on tasks.
- Ask what is blocked, then turn the answer into more tasks.
If you would rather keep ChatGPT or Claude as the agent and Wyatt as the system of record, connect them with MCP.
